Samantha received her MLS from the Simmons Graduate School of Library and Information Science in 2012. Afterwards, she worked in several urban libraries before moving to Oakham just as they began their search for a new library director. She loves the tight-knit, unique community that the library serves, and thinks that she possibly has the best job (and commute) in the state. She lives with her husband, John, and daughter, Winnie in a 1780s farmhouse and likes to read (duh.)
Samantha is one of our Library Assistants. She grew up in town and has lived in Oakham most of her life. By day she works as a teacher in a daycare/preschool center and by night she is at the library helping patrons. When Samantha isn’t working, she’s spending time with her husband and dog and making things! She is an avid knitter and watercolorist.
Avery is a Library Page. She attends Quabbin Regional High School in Barre and she loves to make connections with new patrons! When she is not doing schoolwork, you can often find her organizing the library office or shelving returned books. She aspires to travel and do research in biotechnology, and will be attending Worcester State University in the fall. Until then, she will be happily helping at the Fobes Memorial Library.
Rachel is one of our Library Assistants. She is a current resident of Jefferson and is working towards completing her Masters in Library and Information Science at Simmons University. She is a 2016 graduate from Clark University where she studied Sociology with a concentration in Law & Society. When she isn’t reading, she is spending time with her cat, Gryffin, or enjoying the sunshine with her family. At the library she can be found cataloging new books or helping patrons locate the perfect next read.
Heidi is one of our Library Assistants. She is a graduate of Portland State University with a B.A. in Graphic Design. While she loved staying home and raising her two awesome kids, she is happy to get back to work at the library. She loves working at Fobes and especially helping with the children’s programs! When not at Fobes, she enjoys spending time with her family and pets. Her favorite books to read are anything by Stephen King and the Harry Potter series.
Liz is one of our Library Assistants. She is a transplanted New Yorker who earned a B.A. from Clark University in Urban Geography and attended the UMass Amherst graduate program in Regional Planning. She is an old hand in the library world having worked in libraries in the Central Massachusetts area since 2006. She is a fan of rescue pups, old houses, gardening, and a good story!
